"Menlo Castle in October" – A luminous oil painting that transforms the storied Menlo Castle into a beacon of colour and radiance. Bold, broad, textured strokes bring life to the scene, spreading light and optimism. The castle, nestled on the River Corrib in Galway, carries the weight of history as the ancestral home of the Blake family, one of Galway’s 14 Tribes. Tragically, the estate was ravaged by fire in 1910, marking the end of an era.
Its continental flair captures a classical essence, while the artwork reimagines the castle’s sombre past with an uplifting and striking sense of renewal.
This artwork was painted in Galway, Ireland.
